Support our Olympic Shooters going to Paris

Last Thursday, the SFC initiated a donation campaign for the three members of the Canadian shooting team who are participating in the Olympics.

Currently, as it is summer vacation, some of our young athletes are attending summer camps, some are traveling, and some have returned to China. Despite being scattered across the globe, they are thrilled to see their fellow athletes, with whom they often compete, representing Canada at the Olympics and bringing honor to the country. They wanted to express their support, but many places do not have access to the donation interface. Therefore, they entrusted the club to convey their support and encouragement to their role models, hoping that one day they too will have the opportunity to compete on the international stage and bring glory to the country.

These young athletes used various means to gather their contributions: some used their pocket money, some collected and sold empty bottles, some sold unused books and toys, some delivered community newspapers as part-time jobs, some walked neighbors' dogs for pay, and some used the prize money they won from various competitions. They did their utmost to support the Canadian shooting team, hoping our athletes would not have to worry about expenses and could focus entirely on their competition. We will be cheering them on from around the world.

The SFC's goal for this donation campaign was to raise $25,000, and the coaches, parents, and young athletes from our club have contributed over one-fifth of this amount. After the SFC received our donation, they immediately responded, acknowledging it as the largest donation they've received in history.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the parents and young athletes of our club. The saying "many hands make light work" truly resonates here, and "giving roses to others leaves a lingering fragrance in the hands." With our enthusiastic support, I believe our Olympic athletes will be able to compete with peace of mind and achieve great success.
